Mini Tote Bag — Step by Step Guide
Materials
- Outer fabric: 18cm (width) × 22cm (height) - 2 pieces
- Lining fabric: 18cm (width) × 22cm (height) - 2 pieces
- Fabric for handles: 35cm × 4cm - 2 pieces
- Basic tools such as sewing machine, thread, iron, and pins
Cut two pieces each of outer fabric and lining fabric, 18cm wide x 22cm high.
For the handles, cut two pieces 35cm x 4cm, fold them in half lengthwise (1cm width) and iron them.
Make the handle parts.
Fold the ironed fabric into quarters and sew the edges together securely.
For both the lining and outer fabrics, layer them with the right sides facing inwards, and sew the bottom edge (18cm side) with a 1cm seam allowance.
Sew the prepared handles to the right side of the outer fabric. Position them evenly and secure them.
With the right side of the outer fabric facing inwards, sew the top edges of the outer fabric and lining fabric together.
Shift the fabrics as shown in the picture and sew both sides.
Sew carefully, ensuring the center part does not shift.
Leave a turning opening in the lining part. This is the opening for turning the bag right side out later.
Carefully turn the bag right side out through the opening.
It will be turned inside out like this. Close the turning opening, then tuck the lining into the outer fabric.
Completed
Once everything is neatened, your mini tote bag is complete.
