Free Art Experience
with Kimono Fabric Scraps
Kimono Hagire Workshop — Feel, Play & Create
At kico, we value "using kimonos to their fullest extent," and we repurpose fabric scraps generated during the production process in new ways.
One of these initiatives is a workshop using kimono fabric scraps.
With colors, patterns, and soft textures unique to kimonos,
adults and children alike can enjoy creating art with free ideas,
using materials they don't usually get to touch.
Workshop Contents (Examples)
- Collage art created by freely cutting and pasting kimono fabric
- Aromatherapy diffusers made by attaching kimono fabric to discarded materials
There's no right answer; it's a workshop where you move your hands as you wish
and simply enjoy "the time of creation" itself.
Each completed work is rich in individuality, and discovering new expressions of kimono is one of its charms.
We hope you can enjoy kimono not just as "something to wear," but as a material to feel, play, and express yourself with.
